Seven local artists died in a road accident Saturday night at Kamara along the Eldoret – Nakuru highway. The accident involved probox that was heading towards Eldoret from Kericho and a trailer that was headed towards Nakuru.

According to the Rift Valley Traffic Enforcement Officer Zero Arome, the driver of the Probox was trying to overtake another vehicle when it collided head on with a trailer. The seven artists who were on board of the probox died on the spot. "The probox driver was overtaking dangerously at a steep slope of the road that has a sharp corner, he did not see the oncoming trailer,"
